I have strong a baseline reluctance to get involved in other people's problems, but there's also an argument to be made that a person rushing threateningly with a knife toward a group of people is everyone present's problem, or at least has a strong potential to be. With the sparse available information on this one, I'm not about to proclaim that the shooter's actions weren't those of a reasonable person, or that I wouldn't have taken similar action in his place. Here's hoping he got it right.

Going up on a knife with another melee weapon when you're armed with a gun.

Sold plan. Let us know how that works out for you.

Like I wrote, my actions will be dictated by what I know. My first thoughts are, what can I do. If I feel I can do something with out using my fire arm, so much the better. The decision to go to my fire arm may happen before I exit my vehicle.
