Yeti backpedaling?

Is Yeti backpedaling its decision to break ties with the NRA?

NRA claim we cut ties with them is inaccurate
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/384561-outdoor-sports-company-nra-claim-that-we-cut-ties-with-them-is?utm_source=quora
Outdoor sports company Yeti is fighting back against the National Rifle Association (NRA), saying their claim that Yeti abruptly cut business ties is “inaccurate.”

Yeti said in a statement Monday that they had notified the NRA Foundation and other organizations weeks ago that they were eliminating a group of outdated discounting programs.

“When we notified the NRA Foundation and the other organizations of this change, YETI explained that we were offering them an alternative customization program broadly available to consumers and organizations, including the NRA Foundation,” the statement said. “These facts directly contradict the inaccurate statement the NRA-ILA distributed on April 20.”

So, did the NRA misconstrue what was going on?

Or is Yeti trying to backpedal?

Or both?

Backpedaling would be my bet.

Pelican coolers are better anyway, and made in the USA.

Let’s hope they go backrupt too like the others losing money for dropping the NRA.

Do I have to wear a flat bill with a Pelican like you are supposed to with a Yeti?

Pelican does seem to make more sense with my salt life stickers.

Now NRA is calling Yeti liars...

https://www.nraila.org/articles/20180424/alert-yeti-adds-insult-to-injury

I tend to believe NRA on this one. Doesn't seem likely to me that NRA started this for publicity.

Interestingly, Snopes already has a page devoted to the Yeti/NRA scandal. No definitive assessment yet. Anyone want to bet what way it will end up there? Ha!

I would have said the same a few years ago, but then received one as a gift. Nothing is better at keeping things frozen. 12 hour car ride out of Canada with a sliver of dry ice and fish stay frozen solid. When I use it with regular ice, beer is cold for a week. Mine happens to be YETI brand but I suspect the others that are built similar perform as well. My point is this class of cooler while much more expensive than the old igloo is in a whole different performance class.

Well, hoping that prices come down as more companies make similar coolers.

Agreed. I would not have bought one myself to be honest, now that I have one I see the value and knowing what I know now would recommend one. Now this current situation I also feel strongly about so I would likely wait to see how this shakes out because I will not spend my money with them if they are going to be anti-2A. Not that I am in need of another.

I guess what I am saying is if I did need a cooler and this situation aside, I would spend the money for one and would have likely stuck with YETI brand based on the performance experienced. Buy once cry once type thing.
