Dick’s Says Firearms Policy Hurt Their Hunting Business, Will Continue to Hurt Going Forward

Stack went so far as to say Dick's may get out of the firearms business altogether depending on whether sales pick up in the long term.

Dick's addressed Mossberg's recent decision to end their relationship with the retailer. Stack said "we don't have the best relationship with the firearms manufacturers right now" but indicated the company may still buy Mossberg products from third-party distributers.

They’ve had a great quarter. Beat earnings soundly. Stock price up nicely. Soccer moms spend a lot more $$ than gunnies.

They'll be fine. As mentioned, there is a lot more margin in apparel, especially when you can sell house brands. Shooters lament the loss only because it represents the decrease in respect our consumer base represents. Doesn't sound like anyone on this board ever shopped there anyway. IMHO This community is not a great loss to them, 45badger nailed it.

Yes. Dick's biggest threat, and it's a big one, is Amazon and Walmart. Their position on firearms will have a minuscule effect on their bottom line.

I see what you are saying, but I think it's a win for our side to be able to walk into a mall like Burnsville Center and buy a gun.

Again, how many soccer moms will stroll into most gun stores? Just the presence of guns along with lacrosse sticks, hockey pucks and cleats is a good thing for our side. And maybe, just maybe, when the nuts say on TV that "guns kill", the soccer moms may remember the last time they were shopping at Dicks, no guns came off the wall and harmed anyone.

There are little mom and pop gun stores that work hard for our business every day and truly supports the 2A. I would rather buy from them than some mall chain store that might break into liberal virtue signaling any time the wind blows tha wrong way.

So that worked with sportmart, target, the metro area Walmarts, and Abercrombie and fitch

Doesn't mean guns need to go the way of the porno mag where they can only be purchased at "specialty" shops. I'm used to malls where I grew up that had Scheels with a huge gun areas, they seemed to work.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have guns available for sale every where, but I am not going to be upset if dicks goes under and at this point don't really see that as a loss.
