Agree

I agree with your agree. Pro-2a MN groups should author a bill in MN saying this. Equal protection and all that.

Yup. Same with our existing laws.

The 2A movement should go on the offensive and get as many bills sponsored as they can. Its easier to set the agenda when its your fires the opposition has to take time putting out instead of waiting to react to what the Antis come up with..

Yep. I agree with all the agreeing.
The letter from the county prosecutor clearly points to a mind set that there is the gov't, and then there's its subjects.

Given the publicity some notorious police shootings have gotten, there may be some unconventional (for lack of a better term) alliances to be formed.

Well said sir. Outreach to woman, minorities and the other disenfranchised groups. Welcome them to the shooting ranges. Rally/empathize to their causes.

Grass roots, 1:1 efforts can go a long way. Talk to people while waiting for a lane. Smile. Talk about the issues. Point them towards the pro-2a groups. (I've been doing this and I challenge everyone on this forum to do the same)

Hyperbole like "if AR15s ONLY purpose is to kill as many people as quickly as possible, why do police need them? To "notoriously" kill as many minorities as possible? No one (including police) NEEDS AR15s" Police only need defensive weapons, not offensive. (well, it's not really hyperbole, it a reasonable argument)

AFAIK, if something is banned the government is not required to compensate owners for the pre-ban value. This would be in line with precedents going back to English common law that you can't sue the government for enforcing the law.

I read a headline that said not one magazine has been turned in.

Legal Guidance: What to Do As NJ Police Come for Your Gun Magazines

New Jersey – -(AmmoLand.com)- Gun rights attorney and Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs board member Evan Nappen, Esq. has issued legal guidance on how to handle potential efforts by police to enforce the Murphy magazine ban.

Entitled “Knock! Knock! Show Us Your Glock,” the insightful guide by Nappen covers what to expect and how to protect yourself if the unthinkable happens. Click here to view the guide online. Please share this link far and wide among gun owners.

In the meanwhile, Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs is gearing up for further appeal of the legal challenge against the Murphy mag ban. Please watch for upcoming alerts on the litigation as it continues.

Knock! Knock! – Show Us Your Glock

What to Expect & How to Protect Yourself from the Murphy Magazine Ban
By Evan F. Nappen, Attorney at Law

The Murphy Magazine Ban WILL be enforced. It is only a question of what degree it will be enforced against honest gun owners.

“The New Jersey State Police corresponded with Breitbart News on December 11 and refused to rule out house-to-house enforcement of the state’s “high capacity” magazine ban.”

Possession of any magazine holding over 10 rounds that works in a semi-automatic firearm is now a felony-level offense with a penalty of up to 18 months in prison. There is no “grandfather clause.” If you are convicted, you lose your gun rights for the entire United States. These standard capacity magazines, which have been turned into contraband, are commonly being called “Murphy Mags.”

There are four basic levels of potential enforcement. The question is how aggressive the anti-gun-rights Murphy administration is going to be in enforcing the Murphy Mag ban. Here are the four possibilities:

Police Raids: House-to-house searches of suspected possessors.
Police Investigations: Interrogation of suspected possessors.
Demand Letters: Intimidating official letters sent to suspected possessors.
Random Prosecutions: Randomly prosecuting anyone caught possessing.

My guess is there will be one or two highly publicized no-knock raids to intimidate the peasants into complying. After that the law will be largely ignored, especially when gang-bangers, just turning their lives around, kill each other. It will however be enforced vigorously when some poor schlub gets caught using one at the gun club or in a self defense scenario.
I will never apologize for being an American.

The mag ban in Colorado has been ignored. You can buy 30 rnd mags in the stores there. Civil disobedience is becoming the norm.

Non-enforcement equals selective enforcement.
As long as you don't have the wrong political signs / flags on your home, you'll be fine.

Perhaps, but CO is not NJ. This is the same state that gives you 1 year for each hollowpoint in your carry gun.

But hollowpoints tend to penetrate less and IMO are a safer for those behind the target.
