Minnesota: Setting the Record Straight on “Universal” Background Checks and "Red Flag” Legislation
This year, the same legislation has again been introduced and NRA continues to oppose it. House File 8 and House File 9 have been referred to the House Ways and Means Committee and could be considered soon. It is important that NRA Members and Second Amendment Supporters contact committee members and strongly urge them to OPPOSE House File 8 and House File 9 when they come up for a vote.

I have been contacting reps and senators already.
Been telling every gun owner to do the same . Everybody says they oppose this stuff , But damn few pick up the phone or write a e-mail .
Very frustrating , But we have to keep pushing that rock up the damn hill!

And tomorrow?

https://www.gunowners.mn/2019_rally
2019 MINNESOTA RALLY TO DEFEND THE 2ND AMENDMENT

Join the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus for a Rally to Defend the 2nd Amendment in the Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda on February 23rd, 2019 from 11:00am - 12:30pm.

Michael Bloomberg's out-of-state gun control agenda is already out in full force during the 2019 legislative session after spending more than $1 million electing an anti-gun majority in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

We need to keep up the pressure all throughout session to stop gun control in its tracks.

What better way than to have thousands of law-abiding gun owners rally to make sure their voices are heard?

We will have speakers from all over the gun rights movement here in Minnesota, including elected officials.

Timeline

10:00am: Doors open
11:00am - 12:30pm: Rally
We're holding the event on a Saturday so that folks that work during the week can attend - and indoors so that we can avoid any weather challenges in February.

RSVP BELOW, SAVE THE DATE, and SPREAD THE WORD.

Note: You may carry a handgun at the State Capitol Complex as long as you have a valid Minnesota Permit to Carry. Long-gun carry inside the buildings is prohibited by statute. We recommend carrying concealed. Flag poles & signs on a stick are prohibited. Signs and flags are welcome, however - but must be carried by hand. We will have Caucus signs available.

We hope to see you there!

My two sons and I were there too.
Hope the senate majority leader is true to his words and keeps the senate republicans in line to stop the house and the Governor from their gun control dreams !

Senator Gazelka has been consistent in his position on this legislation from the start. There are some other weak Republicans that we need to keep the pressure on though -- watch our action alerts and Facebook page for more information.

Senator Scott Jensen
Senator Paul Anderson

last year both signed onto Universal background checks. Senator Jensen later withdrew his support. Neither has signed onto any gun control legislation this year.

Both voted against gun control amendments last year at the end of session.
