It seems to me that the members of a country or a group must have something in common. I am not sure what the EU member nations have in common.

Borders, but there are very distinct ethnicities, languages, cultures that I don't think the Union necessarily honors. I think they are not so slowly trying to homogenized the continent
There is the age old Napoleonic/Persian/Nazi etc. dream of bringing the entire continent under one flag, accomplished, but at what cost?

Worked as a carry out at Country Club Markets when I was 15 they sold horse meat for awhile but it did not sell
very well, The butcher let us all try it, actually wasn't too bad.

We had an older horse break it’s leg on the farm. Had to put it down so ground it up. Could not really tell the difference between that and beef. Remember it being a bit on the dry side. But it was an older horse so...
