Court halts public housing gun ban, big win for Ill. rape victim
Senior Judge J. Phil Gilbert for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois in Benton, Ill., issued a permanent injunction on the East St. Louis Housing Authority's gun ban, claiming it violated the Second and 14th Amendments letting citizens protect themselves.

He ordered the East St. Louis Housing Authority to erase the ban on guns for residents from its lease.

So who would have guessed that the right to bear arms is not supposed to be infringed. Go figure

We’ve explained how she was beaten and raped in January 2017, and her children stopped the attack only by threatening to use a gun. On two other occasions, Ms. Doe had to call police due to shootings in nearby residences. When the housing authority threatened to terminate her lease due to the gun in her residence, they insisted that the building is safe, so she doesn’t need a gun.

Perfect example of the anti mindset: "just be in a "safe" location and you'll be fine. And if we ban guns, everywhere will be safe!"

Just post signs specifying it as a crime free zone. Solved.

My brother just spent a week in Bosnia...err... I mean St. Louis for work. Holy cow! The pictures he showed me and the stories he told me...let's just say they don't put that on the brochure!
One evening after work he was going into the liquor store to get a sixer for him and his coworker; a local struck up a conversation that ended something like this:

Local: So you got your permit?
Bro: Permit? Permit for what?
Local: Are you carrying a gun?
Bro: No.
Local: You should be.

Wowza.

As bad as St. Louis is, East St. Louis is far worse.

Yep. Was just in St. Louis over spring break with wife and kids. It’s actually a great city to visit. Lots to do. But there are sections in St. Louis that are really dangerous. House after house boarded up and run down. Gorgeous, architecturally-interesting places that are just completely neglected. But yeah, east St. Louis is worse than any part of St. Louis proper.

Yep. City museum, arch, zoo, science center, and Anheuser-Busch. And tried St. Louis style pizza. And had some bbq at Pappy’s. Covered enough of the city’s major stops over a few days.

That’s a great list. I felt like a kid again at the city museum. Surprised I fit in some of those places.
