Probably not.

But a civil trial might well shine some sunlight on how Noor ended up a cop. And if somehow every property owner in Mpls. got a special assessment to cover the damages, maybe a few would notice that voting has consequences.

I've mixed feelings about civil actions against government.

We all want to see those responsible for this nonsense to be held accountable, but we all know that's not going to happen.
I will never apologize for being an American.

You're quite right.
There will be no personal accountability or repercussions, and the tax payers will pay the bill.
About all that could come out of it is some exposure to what took place.
I'm probably being overly optimistic that this will cause anyone to wake up.

My fear is the parasites outnumber the taxpayers to the point that it won't make any difference.

I think that is more of a fact than a fear.

Mohamed Noor seeks to overturn guilty verdict over Australian Justine Damond’s killing
The former Minneapolis police officer found guilty of murdering Australian life coach Justine Ruszczyk Damond claims he should be acquitted because he did not act “with a depraved heart” when he shot her dead.

Mohamed Noor’s lawyers filed a motion for judgment of acquittal in the district court in Minnesota on Tuesday.

...Snipped...

“The evidence at trial failed to support finding that Mr Noor acted with a depraved heart,” Noor’s lawyers wrote in the filing.

“When officer Noor fired that night he was not acting with depraved mind seething with wanton passion to cause mischief.

I would also if I were him. But I wouldn’t have done what he did either.

Is this the same type of defense as Comey used for Hillary? No intent

To you and I yes. To Comey, maybe but saying she didn’t either kept him, or someone around him, alive or there was a monetary impact that he valued.

Jamar Clark's family seeking compensation smacks of cashing in. For now Minneapolis is resisting. Do you think the family will get something? Very different circumstances.

Completely different circumstances.
Thy'll make enough noise and get something.
The fact that the city is negotiating is a poor sign.

My hope is whatever they get, the girl who he was beating up sues his estate for that, and more.

Yes, very different circumstances, yes they are just money hungry cashing in. Yes they will get something. The city will not take it to court.
