Booger hook in the trigger guard while holster it will cause a bang. A person may buy a fits all nylon holster and that in it self can/ has gotten caught in trigger guards and resulted in a ND. Always test a new holster with a unloaded firearm just to be safe Incase parts get inside the trigger guard. If you have to force the firearm in it should be a very big red flag.

Flown to the hospital. That doesn't sound good.

Odds are the patient was flown to a Level III trauma hospital for emergency reconstructive surgery, something not available in most Minnesota hospitals. Aircraft are commonly used for transport as they can be easier on the patient due to fewer road bumps and for time as the sooner the corrective actions can be taken the better the outcome. Also, depending on local staffing and policies, using a helicopter for a long transport leaves a land based ambulance available for the other, more mundane calls that regularly occur.
