Gun narratives are important to create frustration with gun ownership. It's the same reason there is a lack of detail about the perpetrators/victims locally and the motivation behind the events. The optics need to be created that these are random and scary so the voting public are conditioned to believe they are in danger. If they are reminded that they are criminals the the Government is supposed to protect us from and are failing to do so, the script flips and makes it more important than ever for citizens to be prepared to protect themselves.
