Well, Virginia House of delegates passed it, barely. Couple of Democrats voted against. On to the Senate.

As written sale, import, transfer or purchase of magazines greater than 12 rounds is Class 6 Felony (up to 5 years). Possession is Class 1 misdemeanor (up to 1 year).

Sounds like their house banned suppressors as well.

Don't move it until July 4th or later. I'll be visiting it in late June

It passed the house today 52-48. Goes to the Senate next week. According to the article moderate Dems are unlikely to support it.

The NRA Museum is part of the NRA headquarters... which is a building full of lawyers. Also contains a shooting range and training facilities. As it happened the Democrats tried to craft a bill, that explicitly shut down the NRA Ranges without naming names.

Glimmer of a success in this fight:

Virginia lawmakers reject Northam's assault-weapons ban

A bill backed by Gov. Ralph Northam that would ban the sale of assault-style weapons in Virginia failed on a committee vote Monday morning, setting back one of the biggest priorities for the newly minted Democrat-controlled government in the state.

They will try again. Just change the wording a little but still mean the same thing.

Died in Senate committee. It barely passed the House, as is. In the House vote, four democrats actually crossed to aisle to vote against it.

At least not this year. VA has a deadline to introduce new legislation and it has passed.

I'm sure the NRA was out there somewhere, but the really noisy players here were,
VCDL and GOA. IMHO they both deserve your support.

I'm sure their threat isn't over yet this year. It always seems like there are other ways to ram things through.

What is it "No man's life, liberty or property are safe while the Legislature is in session."
