CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman shot a man who broke into her home in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood Wednesday night, Chicago police said.

The woman took out a gun and shot the intruder, hitting him in the right foot, police said.

I've heard of people shooting themselves in the foot, never heard that it was training for a home invasion situation.

Well, if she shot him in the foot he's unlikely to become a place kicker, but he still has plenty of opportunities.

That lady is lucky. If the burglar shot back, she could be dead very easily. Learn to shoot better.

No no, it was just a child* (*age 215 months), possibly transgender, homeless after escaping an abusive domestic situation, who was looking for someplace to do their homework to qualify for a scholarship when they were profiled by a vigilante with an assault-Glock loaded with armor-piercing explosive poisoned bullets.
