I can't shoot .50 BMG at any of the ranges at OGC -

I'm too cheap.

I use the 200 meter and 100 yard ranges at OGC when I want to ladder test loads or chronograph loads for my 50 BMG.

I go to GRRC when I want to proof test my 50 BMG loads at 600 & 1000 yards

I can't quite accept the .950 JDJ as a legitimate small arm because it requires being bolted to a weighted base. Feels like "cheating" somehow...

This might be a legitimate concern.

Raccoons and skunks.

Chose the .50 because I felt like it.

The .22 RF would have done the job too.

I don't own one so we we will both have to find a sugar daddy.

Seems like a bad investment.

I have used the 200 meter range and the 25 yard range at OGC when chrono testing. The 25 yard line was a little overkill for noise generated but since no one was there when I set up it seemed like the perfect place. After firing a few shots, more shooters showed up mainly to ask questions. During these discussions, the common topic was why I had no target on the stands. I explained to almost all that I was chrono testing only and needed no target.

After many times explaining set up of chrono work, I forgot about centerline of scope vs centerline of bore and proceeded to shoot my chronograph.

The END - literally for that chrono. A 50 caliber hole thru all.

Not much left after that.

After days of playing "Panda Pop" on my phone, I'm suddenly envisioning a real life version where you have to shoot different colored balloons from start to finish on a shooting course. Including not accidentally shooting any of the "You Lose" balloons next to the targets.
