I’m optimistic that it’s just a reorg, and the bankruptcy protects them from the crap NY is pulling.

Lobbying is done by the NRA-ILA, which I believe is separate.

Correct, the way I see it the main benefit of the actual NRA is showing member numbers of people agreeing with the 2nd amendment.

National Rifle Association Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Postby Ironbear on Sun Jan 17, 2021 8:11 am

Per the email they put out, it is part of a strategic plan to get out of new york. They filed for bankruptcy in a federal court in Texas, to protect themselves from New Yornk AG's "abuse of legal and regulatory power".

But where did all the money go? You can’t just file bankruptcy as a strategy. You have to be bankrupt first.

We have our own swamps to drain too.

Bankruptcy is about reorganization, not necessarily about debt.

The debts will need be transferred to the new corporation, there is nothing to suggest that they won't be paid.
