About one third of the 76 board members have had conflict of interest charges/ investigations against them in recent years.
In the most recent election, there was only 1 vote from the board for l'il wayne's opponent, Allen West, retired military officer and former U.S. congressman from Florida.
I'm guessing there is somewhere an island with private luxury houses, and the streets are paved with NRA dues.

I can only speculate that it's a big den of thieves; everyone going along to get along...and fill their pockets
Personally, Even before all the issues involving him, I have never thought much of wlp as the face of the NRA. He's a poor public speaker, never trained himself to deal with the media

Their reputation has held the wolves at bay at the federal level. I feel without them, there are too many republicans that would cave to hold the line.

The NRA's strength has always been it's ability to get it's membership out to vote, letter write and phone call.
