MOA shooting

Postby LarryFlew on Sun Dec 25, 2022 2:06 pm

"Since it opened in 1992, the Mall of America has been a tourist destination and community gathering spot. It bans guns on the premises, but shoppers have generally not been required to pass through metal detectors. The mall said in October it was testing a “weapons detection system” at one of its entrances."

Make a difference? Do they still think criminals read those??? Looks like in the future what they don't know might affect us.

Isn’t there still the whole “malls can’t ban guns because it’s the tenants choice” thing? If they put firearm detectors in and stop shoppers from carrying, wouldn’t that be illegal?

Or is the whole tenants choice thing gone these days?

Only a tenant would have standing.

I'm certain going along with a gun ban is part of the lease agreement. Possibly with an exception for the actual owner/operator of the business, less likely for managers or employees.

Let me guess. One group was wearing blue, the other red.

Or don't bangers wear colors anymore?

Isn’t that a little old school? I thought most of our mpls gang fights were between the gangster disciples and the black disciples, basically a schism of the same Chicago gang?

Sadly, as expected, MOA murder suspect was under court and correctional control
Deandre Depratto, 18, is one of five people in custody for the shooting death of Johntae Hudson, 19. The murder happened inside Nordstrom’s at the Mall of America during one of the mall’s busiest shopping days. All five fled the scene, reportedly stopped at White Castle for take-out burgers, and ended up at an apartment in St. Louis Park where police arrested them early Saturday morning.

A review of state court records reveals troubling information that has become all too common — Depratto was under court and correctional control at the time of the murder. The reason? A few months before the MOA murder, Depratto had fled police in a stolen car that had been carjacked at gunpoint just blocks from his mother’s house days earlier. The details of the case and the impotent response from the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office and Hennepin County District Court follow.

I want to know why the gang-bangers were shopping in Nordstroms? Pretty spendy for a bunch of street thugs...

Street thugs often have more disposable money than those who work for a living.
Besides, if you are looking for marks, would you look at Wal-Mart or Nordstroms? Go where the money is.

Plus if you are going to shop lift, high end merchandise and liberal return policies….

We'd have to start in on knife bans like the UK.
