Medicaid money going to 'Violence Preventor' groups

Postby daleamn on Tue Dec 12, 2023 12:18 pm

Seven states now allow Medicaid dollars to fund violence prevention programs

So you need money for a gall bladder...cataract surgery...heart transplant...well, the money to fund this stuff might just be going to the 'violence preventor' groups.
You can read about it in this article from the Washington Post:
Gun violence is a plague. Could Medicaid help?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/ ... 5#comments

P.S. They don't mention it in the article but maybe masking up again and washing your hands a lot could keep you from being infected with 'Gun Violence'.

While community action gun violence stuff is goofy for medicaid/medicare, I would think it actually fits in to those with a personal history of violence or anger issues.

Counseling can help those folks… and it’s for a specific diagnosis.

I'd bet most of that money is being stuffed into the pockets of a few select political allies, and some gets funneled back into democrat campaign funds.
I will never apologize for being an American.

What concerns me is money being handed out to groups that fail to be accountable for what they do. Cedric Alexander, former Minneapolis Community Safety Commissioner, even mentioned this when he was in office.

And both of the above two are very interrelated.

It's not the responsibility of the groups to be responsible, but if the ones handing out the money...

Technically it is the responsibility of both.
