Hi everyone! Another Newb

Hello everyone,

My name is Toua and I just joined the forums. I am an individual who wants to learn more about hand guns and rifles (primarly to keep at home and occasionaly to the ranges as I don't hunt). The closest thing I've had to a gun is a pump action bb gun rifle. My end goal is to get a hand gun and a rifle. I'm here to learn as much as I can as I'm still kind of scared to handle/shoot a gun. Thanks in advance!

Howdy Toua! I still remember my old Daisy rifle. It killed a lot of tin cans back in the day. :)

There are folks all over around here who will be willing to break you in gently to louder (and more fun) things. :D

Hey you sound pretty reasonable to me; I think maybe the people who aren't the tiniest bit afraid of guns are the boneheads who make the bullet holes behind the firing line at Bill's.

Howdy, this is a great community to join, one of the most friendly and willing to help out of any you will find. Lots of good instructors here (Don L is outstanding for beginning firearm lessons) as well as many here who would be more than willing to share their toys with you at the range to let you get an idea of where to start.


I would recommend a .22 to start, and to learn on, and then move up from there as you progress.
