It is prety nice out there, hard to beat the sound and mountians all being so close. I had considered it but my kids(exwife) and GF all live there, but yes it will be hard to leave.

The super-b's. I was at Barbers for a few weeks in the 90's pretty awesome place, too bad they moved in with the USMC, K-bay is nice but I like Barbers. Have you done any reading up on the P-8 yet? I think the first squadron transitions this year.

Welcome and as others have, I thank you for your service.

My son is in the Navy and just got his orders that is sending him to Washington state, at least until he goes out on a carrier.

Don't know, he has spent the last full year at Great Lakes for training, then heading to Washington.

Welcome aboard shipmate!
I'm a reservist that supports CNFJ and primarily the Disaster Preparedness Office at NAF Atsugi.
I just spent 2 months there in support of Operation Tomodachi.

Thanks Brent.
I'm actually heading up to Misawa then over to Atsugi for about a week, I had hoped to get there in time help out some with cleaning or rebuilding. There is still a ton of stuff to do as I'm sure your aware and if we have time I'mhoping to set up some community service type events, for us kind of comes down to the flt sked. I like it up there alot more than Okinawa.
Cobb-
When he gets out there if you have not spent anytime in the Pacific NW take a visit, well worth the trip. Plenty to do in greater Seattle area, and lots of great and well maintained parks, and trails with in a short drive of the city.
