Hello all,
I'm a new gun owner having just purchased two firearms, a Ruger Mark III 2245 Standard (not the more commonly seen bull nose. Mine looks similar to a Luger P08) and a Springfield XDM 45 with a 4.5" barrel in dual tone coloring. Both weapons are an absolute joy to work with and a perfect fit for me.
Aside from my weapons of choice, I love my family first, music, to travel, writing, cats, philosophy, along with intellectual discussions and pursuits. I've been a computer user for over 3 decades, starting out on UNIX in the 1970s when I was just a kid. I work in the IT field by day for my regular work, and by night for myself for a few clients I have. For fun, I've refurbished a few PCs and pout Linux on them before giving them to people. After some basic training, they are off and running to the point I really don't hear from them with problems unless it's hardware failure, otherwise, it just works. Far less hassle than Windows and Mac are.
I've been to every state in the US (except for AK and HI).

Welcome to the group. I think IT can be a good analogy of knowing your environment, sensing when something is not right, using simple methods to detect/avoid problems, and planning one step ahead.
