Thanks for the welcoming. I got my glock cheap and I love it, it got me started for under $400. I want a Kimber 1911, Sig P220 Carry, M4 Carbine AR 5.56/.223, and a S&W 686 .357 mag. I have shot them all but do not own them. Someday! Any suggestions on a carry pistol? I like the P220 Carry, Beretta PX4, or Glock 9mm compact (forgot the #'s).

No.

Yes.

Like I said, some of the internals have been changed. A couple of hundred trouble free rounds since then.

And because it's a dept. owned pistol, no internet "expert" would be allowed to even touch it.

Here's a post by Randy Lee (Apex Tactical) about his observations. http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=92447

Some of the later Gen 3's appear to have a lot of the same extraction/ejection issues as some of the Gen 4's from what I read. I have a Gen 3 G17 made in April of this year. It occasionally dribbles ejected casings onto the bill of my hat, but I haven't had a frank malfunction yet. There is quite the discussion ongoing at M4Carbine http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=92133 about these Glock issues. Certainly a lot of it is classic internet mental masturbation, but there's some interesting information in there, wheat amongst the chaff.

Now go buy a Gen4 or a 1911 ;)

Gen 4's suck.

Stick with the 1911.

Gen 4 is where it's at.

Welcome from hinckley...
Wrap that around your overly muscled left wing and row your dinghy in counterclockwise circles as a result.
