Just moved up to northern Minnesota from California...SO GLAD TO BE FREE!
I'm living up near Grand Rapids and was wondering if anyone up in this area knew of any open spaces that are A-Ok for shooting. I know of a range or two around here but I like being on my own or in a small group when I shoot.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your escape from the People's Republic of Kalifornia.
Most state forests are OK for shooting. Some have designated ranges, though I don't know of any up there with a range. More information can be found on the DNR website.
