Howdy from Carver County

Postby ShaneInMN on Mon Jan 21, 2013 9:38 am

Hello all! Recently moved from the TC metro area to a farm out in west carver county. I own several firearms (Kimber 1911, Glock 17, Beretta Nano, Mossberg 500A)

I enjoy my guns and my rights as a law abiding citizen! I look forward to discussing my experiences and asking questions here amongst fellow Minnesotans.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm going to build a dirt backstop this spring when we get the bobcat out here to do some grading around the house. I need to find a good spot though and I'm having a heck of a time finding the "laws" regarding how far away you need to be from roads/houses to shoot. I live in a township about 2 miles out from the nearest city.

Would be interested to meet up with some of you locals nearby and head out to a range this winter. I haven't found any indoor ranges nearby yet.

I have my significant other and two adult kids who are also interesting in shooting.

Unfortunately no indoors are close to us. Burnsville and Bills are the 2 closest. Got a pole barn on your new property ;) :cogitating:

Nope, 2 bay horse barn. If I had the money I'd think about quitting my day job and opening up a range out here. Burnsville's about an hour away and that was the closest range I knew of.
