Hello from central MN

Postby UpNorthSavage on Sat Feb 02, 2013 11:01 am

Hello all,

I am located in near Brainerd, MN not too far from the new Mills Indoor Shooting range. I have not used the facility yet but plan too. I like to reload quite a few different calibers from .223 through .30-06. I have been reloading since I was about 14 years old, so I guess that means I have been reloading for about 29 years. I enjoy punching paper as well as hunting deer and if the oppurtunity presents itself foxes and coyotes. I primarily shoot rifles, bolts and ARs, but shoot a couple of different pistols as well. I am, at this time able to shoot on my own 100 yd range and have a 25 yd pistol/rimfire range set up as well. The shooting sports are VERY important to me. My father started me off with a single shot .22 when I was about 4 years old and it has been love ever since. I am a member of the NRA and urge everyone to become one. I have taught my wife of 21 years too shoot and she does a fine job. I have not been able to convince her to prep casings while I am at work but I keep trying. I am looking to get into some sort of competitions for firearms but with the new laws we are facing my weapons of choice are now at risk. I joined this forum to connect with other gun enthusiasts for shooting oppurtunities and to share knowledge.

Welcome aboard. Grew up in the Aitkin area, and try to get back home as often as I can - unfortunately, that isn't often enough.

Welcome from rural Deerwood.

Nice that you have your own range. A buddy and I have one too only a couple of miles from home. More convenient than the more highly-regulated public facilities tend to be.

Keep an eye on the Mills Shooting Center's Facebook page. As their brand-new facility matures, I think we'll see some pretty sophisticated training courses evolve as well as an action pistol league.

Good to see more people from our area joining here and its always great to hear more people are getting involved in the hobby of shooting and hunting!

People like us seem to care more about the world we live in as well as the fact that we put a LOT of money into the economy, both of which are important factors in this day and age.
