Greetings

I'm Matt, and I'm a fairly recent transplant to MN from Chicago.

I love that city, but definitely disagree with some of their politics.

I haven't owned a firearm since I moved to Chicago, but am looking to get back into the sport, which found me here.

Thanks for having me, I'll probably be more annoying this summer when the Sox start up (since the Bears are such an embarrassment this year)

My sister lives in Chicago. Luckily for her sake she isn't very political. Other friends I have there are of the same opinion as you.

I've done some searching and am still coming up with questions. What is needed to buy in this state? I just got my MN driver's license. My understanding is I also need a permit to purchase or permit to carry. What a novel idea. In IL, we had FOID cards, which were needed just to touch a gun.

From what I gather, the permit to carry acts as a permit to purchase as well. I plan on getting one eventually, but for the time being do I just fill out paperwork for the PTP? Does this have to go through an FFL?
