Hi from Mankato also. Methinks Mankato is taking over the forum lately!

Ranges: there's Hunter's Den in New Ulm, and Vantage Point in Kasota. Then a small rather informal outdoor place down by Amboy that I go to sometimes.

Most recently, we've gotten into shooting with some friends and just go out to a friend-of-friends' farm outside of Judson. The membership fees and range costs there are most reasonable. :)

Welcome, got my degrees in mankato and my oldest is there getting his :) Look up the Key City conservation club, they had a good range down there right outside of town that I went to while i was down there, think membership was like 50 a year and you got a key to range .

Thanks for the warm welcome, so different than other forums. I'm getting a quick education on the tactical side a firearms. So much to learn. For those who care to share, did you first go PTP or PTC when you started "collecting/investing" in firearms? Anyone that has brief info on FFL experience from purchasing or selling is also appreciated.
Thanks again and feel free to ask any question for the noob I Am.

There was no such thing as a PTP in Minnesota when I started acquiring and investing in firearms. :o

Welcome from Bloomington! As far as FFL's go, if you are willing to come up to the cities, Thunderjohn is my prefered dealer. A great guy to do business with and honest to a fault. His prices are second to none. I did get my PTP before taking my class and applying for my PTC. I am new to guns and so I wanted to purchase a gun and become familiar with it before deciding whether or not to carry. Obviously, it took a matter of a few weeks and Hours of research on this site as well as others to to make up my mind to carry. My wife was not to happy about how quickly that decision happened. But she is getting over it. Thankfully, now she isn't even bothered when I OC at home. Baby steps... Again, welcome.

If you are looking for a FFL for transfers in the Mankato area, I would go to Mike with Buffalo Ridge Firearms.
