Hello from Woodbury

Postby 92RT-TT on Thu Jan 03, 2013 4:53 pm

Hey everybody!

Just thought I'd join a local community to see what other gun enthusiasts there are around my area. I live in Woodbury MN. I actually am just about to start my first build. I bought a 80% Polish AKM Bent Receiver, and a Polish Underfolder AK47 Parts Kit. I still need a US Barrel and trigger group and Lower bolt guides (rails) and I'm sure a few other things I haven't thought of yet.

I've been reading that alot of people use special rivet presses and whatnot but most are sold out and are rather expensive so I may have to see if I can machine one fab one on my own unless I find someone I can rent one from. I've got my shop to do the build at so I think I have most of the things I could need other then those specialty items (rivet press and AK receiver blank drilling fixture).

A little more about me, I own a turbo rebuilding and upgrading business in Wisconsin and I love cars!

Welcome from Hudson here.... I've got a few flat build AK's under my belt so I might have some tools you could borrow too. ;)

I knew I recognized your SN. I'm MonsterXJ on MN-Jeep. My last Jeep was a 2001 XJ with a 5.5 inch lift. I wish I still had it but the guy I sold it to on there sold it back in 2009 and I don't know who he sold it to :/. What are you driving these days?

Here's a pic of it: Image

Cool! Welcome to this board! When all this white stuff is gone, bring out your XJ and try out some of my trails!
