After numerous PMs I will say this.
I made a mistake 16 years ago. It is/was (outside of two speeding and one parking ticket) the only thing on my record. I was in a situation where I unarmed but was with two people with bats. I went down with them by simply being there and not stopping the events.
My rights were restored and charge downgraded within 2 years thanks to a judge who recognized that I was just a dumbass. My order stated I could have my firearms back in 10 years baring any other crimes. I have kept my nose clean.
After being denied a PTP I spoke with a lawyer. I was re-punished via 2003 MN law retro activating my crime to being banned for life.
I am seeking an attorney to get this appealed.
I do not wish to drag down this form and all the good people here. If I can't have a gun (even BB) then I am willfully leaving and will return when I am free to exercise my rights.
I'm not looking for pity or sympathy. I just hope I can get this cleared before the lawmakers take everything away.
