Hello from Michigan

Postby kztom on Fri Jun 06, 2014 2:24 pm

Hello,
Long time lurker ex North Minneapolis resident here. I figured it was time to do the introduction.
I am a daily carrier here in Mi. and when in Wi. or Mn. The majority of the time I carry openly and Proudly. I use the forum to help keep me up to date with Law and changes (I don't solely rely on this).
Spent time in the Military, I've worked alongside different agents/agencies after moving out of state.
I have last year finally gotten a friend who lives in Golden Valley to get his Pistol Permit, he still is not a daily carrier but he will carry while visiting friends closer to the Mississippi River  .

Lumpy, loved reading the updates from the 4th!

Anyway,
Tom C.

Thank you all for your welcomes. As I sated in my intro I am a strong OC supporter and I have unfortunately not made friends here. I will though stop mentioning OC as it appears to be something that isn't discussed too much here. Is there another forum or even a specific sub forum here where OC is discussed more?

Thanks again,
Tom

I like Defensive carry .com and Glock talk for a wider gamut of opinion.

Glock talk has a feature called GATE ....go ask the expert...you'll find Massad Ayoob at the link.

Thanks Gunsmith, but I was more interested in a more Minnesota OC specific forum.

Open Carry is certainly something that is discussed here regularly. We just happen to disagree on the open carry of a rifle as a political statement.

Welcome to the community. And thank you for your frank opinions about open carry, ill-considered as they may be ;) :)

Hello from Michigan

Spirited good faith discussions are always invigorating. It is worth mentioning the distinction between open carrying- the practice of holstering a sidearm with little or no attempt to conceal it, and carrying/ handling a rifle in public, non- shooting venues. Personally I'm not a big fan of either practice for general political statements, but the former will be more acceptable than the latter.

I do promise to play nice, I don't want to have everyone hating me. xd ED - I have read a lot of your posts in the past and I do like a lot of what you have said.I think it is good to stir the pot once in a while but my apologizes for stirring the pot WAYtoo much.
