Trap Shooting

I am looking for a place to do some laid back trap shooting this spring/summer - not competition style, just to have fun and get more experience with it. Last year I went to Oakdale quite a bit and got hooked. Anyone know of any other places to shoot / or leagues just for fun? Thanks!

+1

Beaverbrook also has a nice facility, but it's quite a drive for you to East Bethel... Blaine is probably far enough too.

You could always have EJS start working out his arm... :D

You ccould always get a membership at ICSC with myself and Vlad. They have two trap houses and a large handfull of portable throwers. Its a hike, but a great facility.

I'm a member at the Buffalo Gun Club. http://www.buffalogunclub.org/ That is a trap shooting facility only. It is very laid back and there are plenty of great trapshooters there that are most happy to help somebody out. It is a bit of a drive, they are probably the cheapest in the greater Twin cities Area. Ask for Sally if you're ever there, she's a great lady and she's kicked my butt many times.

A much more fancy facility is the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake. That one is probably a bit easier to get to from your place.http://www.mplsgunclub.com/. It's a beautiful place with a restaurant and all, they do skeet and sporting clays too. I think they charge about $9 per round but they will assign you a range officer who is very friendly and helpful.

We are also eagerly awaiting warmer weather to shoot some trap. Let us (me or SwedishBabe) know if you want to go, if we can (not always easy sometimes) we will gladly join.

Think Fiasco would mind watching Tango while we're out?

If we can get a nice cow pelvis for them to chew on... nah, it's gonna be carnage and mayhem anyhow. Sure, we can try it.

I wouldn't wish an Un-supervised Tango on anyone's house.

We have been going to the Beginners Trap at Oakdale last summer. They call it a league, but it really isn't.
