so can yall expand on this .327 from the smaller loads?

hows that compare to say the .38spl to a .357mag?

.32 S&W (long) < .38spl < .32 H&R .38spl+P < .327 < .357

All the .32's can be fired in any .327! (same way as .38spl can be fired in any .357)

EDIT: I would expect .32 H&R supplies to dwindle, in favor of .327 ... .32 S&W is somewhat readily available ... and has been ... fer 'bout 115yr! With a $30 Lee Single-Stage reloading press, and a $30 set of Lee dies, it'd be no big trick to download .327 to H&R levels ... should the need ever arise!

Thanks! thats a nifty chart!

sooo that opens up a crap ton of loadings in what 3 calibers outta one wheelgun? i like this!

Edit to your edit: yes ammo supply is a factor i see

4! ... technically, I think ya could shoot .32 S&W (short) thru it ... good luck findin' any ... and I wouldn't hold any hope fer much accuracy, with 'em!

Ya also typically get +1rd vs. any comparable .38/.357 (i.e. most any J-frame snub holding 5rd .38/.357 would otherwise hold 6rd .327, et. al.)

Only fer the H&R ... and maybe not fer a while, yet!

.327'll be plentiful fer a few years, at least ... jest not at the Kwik Trip 50mi outta Yellowknife!

Not like .32 rimfire fer my S&W 1½ ... they make it once every 5yr 'er so! ... and ya can't reload it!

Attached are some loads I ran through my SW 642 and SW 432.

Both have 1 -7/8 barrels. Most published data for 38 special and 32 HR Magnum are for 4 inch barrels. I believe the data published for the 327 is a 3 inch barrel.

My handload for the 32 HR Magnum, Hornady XTP's has a bit of a sharp recoil. The 32 SW Long out of the same gun is like a 22 LR (or less). Very quiet too. I have never shot 32 SW's out of it since they are more expensive than 32 SW Longs.
