Where can a woman trap shoot?

Hello,

A coworkers daughter is interested in getting started in trap shooting. Are there any woman trap teams out there? If so where do you shoot? I thought if she could visit a club on trap night and see what goes on, that would be great.
I would like for her to be able to talk to other women because I know she will get more out of it. She does not own a shotgun at the moment. I know that she would be able get some good information about what to buy, or what to look for in a gun. She currently lives in the Twin Cities area, but any place she could visit and learn something, I am sure she would go.

Thank you,

Thank you,

Minneapolis gun club in prior lake has a big Wednesday night league shooting. It is not women only, but I know I have seen a few out there. It might not be a bad place to start.

Metro Gun Club could be a good choice as well. They have training, gun rentals, etc.

...and Sam means that in the nicest, most non-rapey way possible :)

Necro-Edit: Seismic Sam asked me via PM to delete this post because of the reference to a very emotionally charged topic. I maintain that the comment was meant in a lighthearted way to poke fun at Sam and the rest of the male-dominated shooting community that is desperate to recruit new female shooters while trying not to seem like they are desperately trying to recruit females and is of a quality and nature that does not evoke such trauma.

If I have offended anyone or re-traumatized anyone, I sincerely apologize. I do not believe in sweeping the past under a rug or censoring comments for the sake of political correctness and for that reason, I will not delete this comment unless I hear from someone who is truly offended and wants to see the post removed (rather than someone taking offense on another's behalf).

Women can't trap shoot. Most ranges ban women just like polling places. Next you'll be asking where they can drive.

Women can't trap shoot.

Tell that to my wife... please. Every time she comes out and joins my friends and me, she crushes us, embarasses us and says our little game is stupid. i'm pretty sure no clay has hit the gound within 50yds of the woman.

BOT: Is she a wallflower? Will she jump in and ask questions/introduce herself to strangers? How old is she? I ask because it would be ashame for a young woman (who's a bit shy) to show up at a trap league and just not get noticed. Might be a good idea to set up a more "formal" or "official" greeting with someone who's involved.

A bit of a drive, but Pine Island had two female trap teams last year. I haven't hit trap night very much this year, but we have a sizable female shooter population. We even installed a wine glass rack, at their request so they could enjoy POST shooting refreshments.
