I'd just like to make sure we reach out and thank the misogynysts, racists, xenophobes, and homophobes for driving away any semblance of diversity from the site.

I agree. Not sure what you expect when the culture here is far from pleasant for anyone much less someone who is not grumpy, argumentative, culturally and socially stunted.

It might just be that such a forum that targets one specific gender is now considered passé, and anachronistic:

Target will no longer label toys, home or entertainment products based on gender

That said, I for one appreciate the forethought of the board operator, and the dedication of our all knowing moderators in maintaining this corner of the forum.
It would be great to see it more utilized.

The The Cornered Cat while maintaining a mostly gender-neutral title is a female oriented site.

While one could shamelessly 'borrow' from that: THE CAT'S CORNER might not fly.

Possibly: FAMILY DEFENSE, OR PERSONAL DEFENSE would lend themselves to the goals and purpose of the forum while maintaining gender neutrality.

if you could actually get some of the female members out there to post, you could ask them for suggestions and find out from them what is keeping them away. I realize that is sort of like asking people who are no longer in the room to raise there hand if they are no longer there, but maybe they are lurking.

Maybe the ladies don't post here because they're smarter than we all are and don't waste all their time on the interweb.
