The Humane Society had treated him for heartworm, and I'm pleased to say he tested negative in May. He tends to run into things because he has no depth perception, but otherwise he's pretty well adapted to being blind in one eye. When I was at Seismic Sam's memorial service, one of Sam's friends there was a research veterinarian at the UofM med school, and he started talking about possible complications up to losing the eye if Vinnie wasn't treated sooner than later. My vet seemed to think that it was less than urgent and he'd provide the referral when we decided it was time to get it fixed.
We've gotten the referral, the bill is going to be $3000 and change, and there's just no way I can float another 3 G's of debt. His pre-op exam is scheduled for July 9th, and I've got a Facebook fundraiser going (some of you have already graciously donated to. THANK YOU!): https://www.facebook.com/donate/391862794630847/ I know many here don't do Fb, and I get it (I kinda wish I could ditch them too), but you don't have to have an account to look at the info on there. I've posted the opthamologist's contact info and you can verify I'm not making this up.

I've been dealing with depression ever since being med-boarded out of the Army, and last year's episode was especially dark and a near miss. Vinnie helped pull me away from the edge. Giving him his vision back would be awesome, but my main concern is that he shouldn't have to suffer any more than he's already been through should we postpone treatment and he develop any of the possible complications. I just can't let my buddy go down that road, and I'm humbly asking for help.
Up first is a full Remmington Bucket-o-bullets. 1400 rounds of plinking happiness! I paid somewhere around $72 for it after tax, but this is an auction and it's going to the highest bidder.
This is Vinnie when he first came home.

I'm thinking about doing a raffle for some higher priced items. This is auction #1.
Ends in 7 days: June 11th at 2359 (11:59pm)
Winning bidder will have to make reasonable accommodations to collect their winnings or cover postage. I'm pretty easy and willing to meet just about anywhere in the Metro, or Brainerd area as I tend to be up there often enough.
