Tornado Technologies threads barrels. It's the only thing they do, and they do it well

I am trying Ahmans. I just dropped off the gun Friday, never used them before. I had a barrel threaded in the cities and was not happy with the results.

do you know the name of the guy in the cities? I was going to have a guy in the cities do one, and he was real flaky, and I stopped trying to line things up.

If you are willing to remove the barrel yourself to send in, I would recommend Long Rifles Inc(LRI)
If you do not want to remove the barrel yourself, look else where. They charge way too, imo, for removing AR barrels.

LRI is run by Chad Dixon in Sturgis, SD - turnaround time is usually 1-2 weeks for barrel threading
Pricing is reasonable: $100 for threading and $40 for thread protector(if you want one)
Work is top teir

If you don't have a wussy barrel you can do it yourself.

How would you thread concentric to the bore as required for suppressor use? I'm not saying it can't be done but this probably isn't the tool to thread barrels. It's hard enough to find a good gunsmith that can cut threads concentric to the bore on a lathe. Using a hand tool, I would find it to be very unlikely that the threads would be concentric. Plus this tool would not cut a square shoulder or turn the barrel down to the correct diameter for threading, or crown the barrel.

I was hoping he was joking.

I had Ahlmans thread my Rem 700 heavy barrel. The cost was $100 and it took about a week and a half. They were pretty busy at the time with the upcoming hunting season. They offered a thread protector, but I didn't need it. I wouldn't hesitate going back there to have another barrel threaded.

Not to mention that NPT and NF threads are not going to match and muzzle threads are finer than either one.

I had my MK3 22/45 cut back to 4.4" and threaded.

Amazing work, quick turnaround. Good communication.

He is up in Pelican Rapids.
