Would you have to register the oil filter or the adapter? If you had to register the filter, would that mean you could never change it?

I have no intention trying this, I'm just curious.

Adaptor, they are a available online

I thought the whole Dead Air no longer selling whips for their Ghost suppressor was a direct result of the ATF ruling it's illegal for individuals(non-manufacturers) to own and/or use replacement parts for a suppressor.

Has the ATF ruled the oil filter isn't a replacement part?

Looks like you send it back to them for replacement at a very steep price.

They want $25 to simply change the oil filter and stamp the same number that the adapter has. A box of number/letter stamps are much cheaper, and you can easily stamp the number. Filter's, about $4.

OK, sending it back to them for replacement would make sense.

Is it really cheaper when you factor in the jail time?

Not legal but I've seen it done.
Replace filter after low mileage.

Just kidding.

Quoting my own posting:

I've seen the adapter in use which did have the required ATF Number engraved into it - however I was not aware of the requirement for a matching number on the filter. This would make testing of various types of filters difficult.

Legal provided it has been registered as a silencer. I know at least one company sells them this way. I've thought about trying it since it doesn't cost me anything.

How does it not cost? Would it not be a 200 tax stamp?

I am a manufacturer. The consumer pays the stamp. One of the perks of having an FFL. Once I'm done with it I just destroy it and file the appropriate paperwork.

Per NFA item. Each suppressor, each SBR, each SBS etc. Unless you have an FFL :D

Been researching info about getting my FFL, but haven't taken the plunge yet. A few questions if you don't mind...

What's the cost of GCA license?
Separate audits for FFL and GCA? How often each in your experience?
Do you have to fill out a form 2 each time you replace or repair NFA parts?
You only need to prove efforts to make a profit with FFL not GCA?

Ok for you. Most people are not FFLs

Just found out Deadair is making a 338LM suppressor. I emailed them about it and they confirmed it. Was about to look at another one but will wait. No timeline on it though. I also asked if it would be direct thread or use their adapter. Said they cannot comment on that at this time. Just a FYI

So, how would this suppressor compare in recoil to the factory muzzle brake on an RPR?
