Tomorrow makes one week with the new .22, and so far... installed tech sights, extended mag release, VQ hammer and bolt release, and polyurethane bolt buffer deally. Swivels should be on tomorrow, and the sling should be here tomorrow as well. Thinking about getting the VQ extractor, but not sure if if necessary just yet. Might actually go and shoot it tomorrow as well! Getting ready for the appleseed, and have at least three guys talked into going as well.

I've had a 795 for a while. Liked it. Bought a second one.

You want a rifle that works out of the box - 795.
You want a Lego set - get a 10/22.

Personally, I stay away from 10/22 because I don't really need yet another thing to throw money into.

I only bought te VQ extractor because the factory one just happend to stink. IT'd miss the case about half the time. If yours works, I'd say stick with it. Mine just looked like a factory defect compared to the nice edge on the extractor.

I like the bolt buffer also, makes the action cycle much more quietly. I wish the trigger on mine was better, but not enough to spend the cost of another 10/22 on it. It pops critters fine and thats its job.

my favorite thing has been the hogue overmolded rubber stock. I'd build my house out of hogue rubber if Icould. love that stuff.

if you are looking to improve the trigger, check this hammer out. Dramatically improved the trigger on mine, for about $40.

Interesting. Hadn't really thought about doing just the hammer. Its a few bucks cheaper at Brownells with a C&R discount even. Might have to give myself this for a birthday present.

I have the VQ hammer in one of my 10/22's and along with the springs in the kit it makes a big difference.
