Remington 770 30-06

Does anybody have experience with the Remington 770 in 30-06. I am thinking about buying one and just wondered if it will be a quality rifle for years.

Based upon the sample models that I have actually fired in that price range, I would buy a Marlin bolt-action, Stevens bolt-action, or Mossberg bolt-action before I would buy the Remington 770.

I would buy a Marlin XL7 first if I had a choice, but my Mossy .270 (I bought it before the XL7 came out) has killed it's fair share of deer already in it's short life. The Stevens is going to be as accurate as a Savage, but with a different trigger.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

I cant comment on the remy except for saying that it feels plasticky and but for the same price range i got a marlin xl7 a couple years back. There is a personal opinion review in the product reviews section. For less than $300 it is the best rifle out there as far as i am concerned.
