Ok here is the preliminary info
- has to be a 308win
- barrel 18-20 inches (with a 1 in 10 preferred)
- bolt action/repeater (doesn’t mater weather internal or magazine)
- sub MOA accuracy (preferred)
- weigh under 7lbs
- reasonably priced
Reason for this rifle, it will be the only light bolt action gun I will have. I will use for a number for of things including hunting/recreation and other things.
The gun will be fitted with optics and will be the rifle I take to Texas in 8 weeks, and keep close at hand after that.
I have no real experience with light bolt guns, I do have extensive experience with a Remington 700 (love them) and black rifles.
So this is what I’ve been looking at
Remington Model 7
Savage Model 10 Scout
Savage Model 10 Precision Carbine – currently winning in my head
Weatherby Vanguard carbine (1 in 12 twist and 1.5 moa which is outside the above stuff but has been recommended by a friend)
So let me know if you have any experience with these or any other recommendations.
Thanks
Mike
