Can the M28/76 be scoped, without an modifications?

I am leaning toward something in 7.62x54r...I wish the "Record" hunting rifle was available in the USA

It has a dovetail for a scope mount, but the Finnish mount/ring assemblys are running hundreds of dollars. I'm sure somebody else is making them cheaper.
