Ruger 10/22 magazine problem.

Postby Mo_the_Mouse on Tue May 31, 2011 2:22 pm

I bought my son a Ruger 10/22 at Cabellas a couple days ago. We went to Bill in Circle Pines to shoot it yesterday. Happy to say that the kid is a crack shot. He did very well for his first time out.

We did have an odd issue. Randomly the magazine would fall out of the rifle. Happened to my son, me, and my cousin. We weren't bumping the mag release. Is there a trick to get it to seat properly? Or an adjustment that I need to make?
Mmmmm, bacontini.

Mine would drop the mags once in a while when new as well. The problem was they looked like they were in all the way but weren't. I just had to give them a little extra push to get them to seat properly. They would also stick once in a while when pushing the mag release and wouldn't drop out. It still happens occasionally but things seem to have loosened up a bit with use. Hopefully your problem is as simple a fix as well. If not check rimfirecentral. com.

+1. My sons also requires the mag be inserted firmly. Not slammed or hammered on just a solid push to snap it in.
