I have a CMMG M4 and I like it a lot. Good people to work with quick ship time and now they have BPR's FFL on file (your welcome). :D

That's been my experience as well. I love the 1/9 twist in my M4. It eats anything.

Although you might loose some ability with practice ammo, it will better stabalize the heavier rounds that would be used when it counts. I haven't had any problems with mine other than a little lower accuracy with light bullets. Besides, using .223 in a 5.56 chamber hurts your accuracy too, but everyone does it.

Guess I will chime in...Those that say DPMS are not that good...to each there own...but I for one have had VERY good luck and so have many of my customers...DPMS is a VERY good quality AR and is also a LOCALLY owned company and they do there best to have all the work done locally...

I will put my money into DPMS....dollar for dollar...the DPMS is the best buy....

Tensile Strength (Mpa): 4140 (655.0) 4150 (729.5)
Hardness (HB): 4140 (197) 4150 (197)

so the difference between the two is not THAT significant... so using that as an excuse to say DPMS is sub-par is not, in my opinion, a good enough reason....I will put my DPMS against any manufacturer for a gun taking a beating and I will walk away the king :D

again my opinion....take it as you want....

Good post, but they are no longer locally owned. This is kind of a technicality since they are still a local company with local employees, feeding local families.

but they are still local and they still do everything to support the local area.

Besides, they employ locally grown people....that to me is pretty dang good...

I understand where you're coming from, but a bbl that is 11% stronger alone seems like reason enough to go with a different brand when they are roughly the same price.

My only first hand experience with them has been limited to three rifles. One ban era and two post bans. Two of them (one ban era and one post) appeared to have painted bbls, which seemed really odd to me. The fit between those two was very sloppy as well. The third seemed fine. The ban era gun either didn't like the ammo I was using or had some other sort of issue, because it would have a FTE once or twice per mag. The other two performed fine. All three had worse triggers than my Bushmasters.

I've also heard from others that their LPKs are often out of spec.

It seems to me that if there are better mfgs out there for around the same price (like Stag for instance), why not go with them? For me personally, I'd rather pay a little more for CMMG and not worry.

I don't mean to argue, I just wanted to further clarify my statement. :)

ETA: By "us", I was referring to the collective site. Also, I believe they make their own stainless bbls, but still get their std bbls from Wilson, but I could be mistaken.
