Need a cost/value .308 LongRange Scope. Ideas?

Postby Josh189 on Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:57 pm

Hey guys, I'm putting together a long range rifle and need a good quality scope to reach out to 600 yds. I'd like to spend under 300, I'm looking for any suggestions you all mat have. Once again any insight is much appreciated.

Thanks,
J.

I know many people that are very happy with these and most of them own a nightforce or two so it's not like they just don't know what a good scope is like, they are a good value when you don't want to break the bank

The glass is nowhere near the quality of a Nightforce or US Optics, but they are tough and the clicks are repeatable, which is more than a whole lot of scopes can say. Add in about a million MOA of adjustment, and they are a pretty good "beginner" scope for reaching out a ways.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

I would recommend you take a look at Nikons Laser scope. Its a dandy. I have one with the Nikoplex crosshairs and it is very effective out at 600 plus yards. The field of view is a bit more narrow that some might preffer however with the laser integrated into the scope the quick transition is amazing.

Don't knock it until you try it. If you would like to try shooting my 7mm-08 with this scope mounted on my A-Bolt, I'll make it happen for you. Very deadly rifle in the right hands. Cost is between 650.00-1100.00
