GG sets up to sight in. My buddy walks back, pulls out a new case...containing a 4" .500. Waits for as GG is about to take a shot.

It was like a bomb went off. Muzzle flash extended well into GG's lane.

He decided to leave. :D

+1. Besides, learning to shoot and with shot nerves helps you get over the yips.

Why couldn't you just ignore the GrumpyGuy instead of trying to wreck his day at the range also?

A Pompous Self-Righteous Ass always deserves a Proper Comeuppance.

If Grumpy Guy had used the word 'Please' or 'if you don't mind' just once I'll be he would have been treated differently.

I hate jerk offs at the range that feel they own the place. I have had people get pissy with me at BPR about the muzzle flash because I load with Power Pistol. If they don't like it maybe they should go somewhere else.

So with this statement.

You know it was done in a disrespectful tone from the above statement.
So in your own words this makes the Grumpy Guy,

Well I guess then I misunderstood the whole situations and stand corrected.

If they don't like muzzle flash, perhaps they should take up archery.

The behavior against grumpy guy was WAY passive-aggressive.

I think you would have more respect if you just told him thanks for his concern and have a nice day.

Treating people poorly. does not make up for being treated poorly.

Nope, but that is not the point. It could happen anywhere. Grumpy guy is everywhere. The time or two we shot prone at Oakdale, we had no issues but I don't think we had to move the bench - just other stuff.

Guy didn't have an issue with us shooting prone, only for moving the bench to the side. He kept saying, "If they were meant to move, they would have wheels on them" and I wanted to tell him that if they weren't meant to move they would be set into the concrete but I bit my tongue the whole time. He also said that he never saw anyone shoot like that out there before except the kids on family day. I have not seen anyone ELSE do it but I have done it dozens of times.

I am sure he was just worried about us messing up the benches and I can understand where he is coming from but whatever.

Sort of like walking into the shooting range and asking people who are already there to change their perfectly legitimate activities to suit your personal peccadilloes? :D

That's not passive aggressive. He may be wrong, but at least he's communicating. It could have been fixed by a RO IF the OP had taken that route.

If he' shooting where I think he is, there are no RO's there to talk to. I enjoy shooting there during the week or right when it opens Sunday morning. There are seldom anyone there and we have the whole place to ourselves.
