HA! Shippy wants me to get a rail in place of the rear sight assembly, and put a red dot on the 45 for, as he put it, "Close Tatical Work".

Bring a rail with if you like. Wouldn't be the first military weapon I've added one to. ;)

The high-speed operators in the sandbox are using these now, complete with laser:

Pretty much like a SCAR but w/ lifetime warranty a free armorer's tool

Maybe you could go for something like this:

I'm not arguing science, or the devastating power of that M44's fireball, I'm merely anxious to see the 1911 built. But I do have one question, how did you know that I'd be the guy to battle an M44 wih a 1911? Are psychic?!?

i'm a lot of things to a lot of people. i'm even quik enough (see what i did there???) :P

I shot mine today, not too shabby.

First time at the range. I'd say minute of deer@200yd.
Why it has 2000m sight adjustments, I will never know. Other than to just throw some rounds out there at a small dot that might be a person.

I got a case of bulgarian steel core ammo with my PSL, and picked up 2 spam cans of 148gr romanian ball from fleet farm on black friday.

Since there's a lot of folks following this, I'll just add Blaine FF doesn't have the numbers matching hex 91/30 anymore.

(but I do)

Because it was designed in 1890s, when the concept of volley fire was still alive in the minds of military thinkers.

If you would read the last half of that, you would understand that I really understood the concept of volley fire, but it still seems silly to have 2000 meter sights. You could just as well point it at a 45 degree angle and pull the trigger to achieve the same accuracy.
