The same military thinking that didn't feel a simple safety was needed either.

The operation of the safety is simple. It's just a PITA to use

Find some time to come out and shoot, and I'll show you how it works.

You pull back and rotate it. I get that. But, mine doesn't rotate when it's in the gun. I'm not sure if it's the carrier being too long or what, but it won't go with the carrier assembled. It will go if that's not in place and you put the bolt back in the receiver.

Century would probably send me back a mismatched gun. I'll fix it before they screw it up.

Ah. But how do you get a whole bunch of people to point then at the same angle? The sights, that's how.

The safety is actually the simplest possible. Also, it's incredibly safe. There is no way in hell to disengage it accidentally and when it's engaged the rifle is essentially a solid piece of metal. The safety can't fail.

Speaking of Mosin polish, here's a guy (or gal) trying to sell his polished project on armslist for $250.

Let's see... $100 rifle (missing original sights)... $50 stock... el cheapo scope and scout mount... two-fitty?

I especially dig the rubber band on the bolt handle. Also, the barrel is cut down, which, given unknown quality of work and tooling, does even less for the value.
