mossberg 51 disconnect spring

I was hoping someone might be able to help me with this. I bought this gun cheap but it was missing the disconnect spring. I ordered one but can't figure how it goes on. Thanking you in advance....Robsarmory

can't help you, but i can say that if you'd like to stick around here, you should post an intro on the correct sub-forum. then, for parts needed, there's a marketplace at the bottom of the main page. for advice, this is the right place.

depending on where you are at, maybe you should swing into Bill's in Robbinsdale. bring the shotgun in a case (unloaded of course) and try to talk to Ryan the gunsmith. he could help you out real easy

If the Mossberg model 51M is similar to yours then the above link might be your answer. I normally try Numrich first, but their search function is not working. ;)

Ok I admit i'm a greenhorn here but I will learn the procedures. I guess I was hoping someone could post a pic or diagram of the disconnect spring. As I mentioned the gun was a real deal & in great shape just need to install this darn spring.

Thankyou all for your help. Unfortunatly this link shows the disconnect spring but not where or how it attaches. does anyone have a 50 or 51m they can take a pic of? again thanks for your efforts to help. Gun people are the BEST people!
