I think that I make a lot of typos, but I think that we all get the message.

Also looking to possibly sell said 30-30 made by Western auto supply. Value ?
Thanks

I do like economy guns that shoot. I have a couple of Marlin's, a 270 and 30-06, and a Ruger Hawkeye in a 280. I've always had an eye for Marlin since that's what I started out with in a 22. Both my X guns shoot quite well, the 270 just slightly better than the 30-06. My wife carried one this last fall deer hunting. If I had to do anything different, it would have been to get her into a youth stock, with the additional warm clothes, the length of pull was on the long side.

What I would look for is a short action rifle, .243, 7mm-08, or 308. The 7mm-08 will be slightly higher priced to shoot than the other two calibers. She might find that a removable magazine will be more convenient for her, which would put the Savage Axis or the new Ruger American Rifle into the picture. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new Rugers, even though they are not offered in a youth version yet. Whatever you get, she needs to practice and learn her ability, since the gun's ability should be inherent. Good luck and have fun shopping.

I stopped getting notified of replies to this thread..........

Since I read last, wow. Lots of ideas, Thanks. Talked to her a little more and the weight for shooting wasnt too bad, she was bitching because I never put a sling on it and she had to carry it to the stand :o She also did not like the idea of no safety,,,,it made her very nervus to decock it. I like the lever or a bolt for the fact that after she shoots the gun is safe.....with an auto and a little excitement from shooting a newbie could forget that the gun is hot. Something that needs to be taught/learned. Ive taken alot of notes from here and will be looking.......have some time. BB
