How big is that circle, 48 inches?

What’s wrong with you? Hey smart ass, look at the size of the bullet holes, .338 then do the math. You should be able to figure out it was not a howitzer I shot. Why do you even say sh*t like that?

Not to criticize, but to help, - shoot 5-shot groups to prove capability of any loading.

Mathematically, it has been proven to be best method for determining capability of any loading.

Then post pictures.

I stated that it was the last two rounds and they grouped real well would anyone argue that? No one even asked how well the others were grouping.

Bulletproof, how does your .338 lapua group at 200 yards? How do any of your 1000 yard plus guns group, lets go shooting when?

Wow, apparently some people are sensitive about their group size. My calculations put the circle at ~10", but generally people post a reference when they display a target:

Bulletproof: Sorry I over reacted, I did not brag about it just stated it showing that I am obviously making progress. I took it that you were saying I was lying or something. There are not many people who can help me with this as few have a gun like this for this purpose. I need all the help I can get. Two bullets in the same hole at 200 yards mean I am on the right path, a far cry from 1000 yards I know but a step in the right direction. I have been getting 1 to 1 ¼ inch groups @ 200 5-6 shot groups with Hornady core lock .250 bullets and H870 powder, a far cry from target rounds. If I get 1000 yards under my belt this summer I will be happy. I have a 1000 yard range at my cabin and just joined Faribault RPC for somewhere to practice locally beyond 200 yards. So accept my apology. .

I purchased a Hornady OAL gauge as suggested by a follower and the measuring kit that goes off the ogive not from tip to tip I read this is a must as bullets vary. I hope someone else reading this who is thinking about or doing the same thing chimes in. We can all learn from this. I have never wanted to reinvent the wheel.

I try to shoot at least 5 to 7 rounds in a string, especially when I'm trying different loads. If you're shooting a ragged hole or 1 MOA at 200 yards you're probably ready to step it out to 1000 yards already. Do you keep track of your barrel temperature? Those digital IR gauges are handy and give you more information to work with as your barrel heats up/cools down. I keep a log with all of that sort of data.

No I m not, but I shoot no more than 8-10 rounds in 10 or more minutes (same as slow fire prone CMP) and then clean the gun. What are the temps that are to worry about? I guess I need to buy something else, love anything that requires the need to buy more stuff.

That’s ok, I knew when I put it up I was taking a chance. If you look close its not one hole, I pulled the target away from the backer and you could really see was two rounds. Its only 200 yards and it was only two shots, call it luck I suppose if it was 3 or 4 that’s worth bragging about. But the main thing is the scope is on now. I removed the bolt and looked down the barrel to get it aligned as good as I could, the rail has 250 MOA in it. The first shot was within about 8 inches of where I thought it would hit. It worked well. I have a long time before I will be bragging about anything except the gun it’s self. Got my sights on a 12-42 Night Force, next scope to buy, I will use the 8-25 for deer hunting and gophers on my runway up north I figure I will just need to get close and a little ahead of the gopher.

Just pokin' fun. :D

Nice pair of shots.

How's a 5 shot group look?

The NF 12-42 is a great set of glass for sure!
