Has any one did the conversion from the box magazine to the drop out magazine where you replace the trigger gaurd, mag spring assembly for a kit that uses a removable mag so you can quickly load another mag in if needed??

Some are completely drop in/idiot proof. Others require minor fitting/cutting (dremel tool!) of stock for proper fit. The dis-assembly/re-assembly of bottom metal is easy.

What size mags are available? Also, could you put a scout scope on a 700? I'm thinking Cooper Scout Rifle...

Thanks 45Badger.

The 700 is very easy to put optics on, as far as size mags I will have to assume the kit is a standard Remington configuration so any mag tthat is for the 700 will fit the kit installed in one.

I've actually done this on my 700. I went with a Wyatt's detachable box set-up (http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/th ... ine/Detail), and I like it a lot. My only complaint is that the magazine is kinda hard to load. I looked at several options, mostly revolving around the AICS magazine platform, but they all required extensive stock modifications. The Wyatt's unit dropped right into a standard BDL inlet with no fitting required, and it feeds really well.
